About A Friendly Letter
From 1981 to 1993 I edited and published A Friendly Letter, an independent monthly newsletter that covered Quaker news and issues which were largely ignored by other denominational publications. A Friendly Letter was often controversial, but for me it was what Quakers call a “concern,” that is, a project which represented a part of my own religious service. It was also my experience that many Quaker issues and conflicts mirrored and illuminated parallel conflicts in our larger culture, and so many of my reports in A Friendly Letter may be of interest to general readers. A list of back issues, and samples of its articles, are here.
A Friendly Letter returns online! Find out why!
Articles on other general topics are also excerpted. Feel free to browse and linger. I also welcome your comments, at: kimopress@nullquaker.org.
I hope you enjoy the excerpts, and will order the books that appeal to you.
